DIONNE, Dale

1933 - 2012

Dale was born in Eureka, Montana the fourth of five children born to Alfred and Edna Dionne.

He attended grade school in Eureka, and high school in Deer Park, Washington.

At the out-break of the Korean War he enlisted in the Air Force and served on Okinawa from 1950 to 1953.

He was reassigned to the 430th AC&W Squadron near Long Beach, Washington where he met Gaye Anderson of Longview.

They were married January 2, 1954 and moved to Spokane in 1955.

They have two sons, Steven and Russell.

He was a truck driver and truck salesman for 40 years, working on highway construction, and retired from Central Pre Mix in January, 1996.

He was proud of being voted Employee of the Year in 1989, and becoming a member of the Million Mile Safe Driving Club.

He was on the Executive Board of Teamsters’ Union Local #690 for nine years, and was a member of Retired Teamsters.

He was interested in genealogy, and traced his family tree to 1621 in the Normandy region of France.

He enjoyed traveling, golf, hunting, fishing and family gatherings.

Buying and selling cars was what he loved to do most of all for fun and profit.

He made friends wherever he went, and his quick wit and offbeat sense of humor will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife, sons, daughter-in-law Connie (Steve), grandsons Thomas (Kirsten), Nick, Cameron, Matthew, granddaughter Tara, brothers Walt and Ed Dionne and sister Alvena Chapman.

His older brother, Sherman Dionne, died in December, 2010.
