Obituary: Norman, Virginia


NORMAN, Virginia

Virginia Norman, 84 years of age passed away on Tuesday, April 24, 2012 in Hamilton Montana.


Virginia was born on February 18, 1928 in Pollock, South Dakota the daughter of John and Hilda (Hildenbrand) Kagele.

They moved to Cheney, Washington in the early 1930’s where Virginia graduated from Cheney High School.

She went to college at the Eastern Washington State College for one year until she was married to Lewis Victor Bartholme in June of 1949 and one son was born to this union, Danny.
Virginia moved to Spokane in 1959 where she raised her family and enjoyed volunteering with the Disabled American Veterans Association along with the American Legion.

Lewis and Virginia were divorced later in 1970.

Virginia soon after met Paul Norman and they were married in 1974, he passed away in 1985.

Lahoe Hopkins became Virginia’s soul mate until his passing in 1994.
She moved to Salmon, Idaho in 2008 to be closer to her son.

For two years she stayed in Salmon living and enjoying her life with her son.

Due to failing health she moved up north in to the Valley View Estates in Hamilton until her passing.


Virginia always had a magnificent garden.

She was known to have a near “Rain forest” in the backyard with a wide variety of beautiful roses and ornamental trees.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, brother Raymond Kagele, and husband’s; Lewis Bartholme and Paul Norman.
She is survived by her son Danny L. Bartholme and partner Armina Dillard of Salmon; three grandchildren: Monhana (Brian) Hunter of Salmon, Seron Dillard of Hemingford, Nebraska and Cody Dillard of Helena, Montana; six great-grandchildren; and a sister-in-law Lillian Kagele of Spokane, Washington.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the JONES & CASEY FUNERAL HOME of Salmon, Idaho.
