For democracy’s sake, vote

Voter suppression is alive and real, thanks to the GOP! The Republicans can’t win a fair election, so they accentuate the negative (Willie Horton), lie, and belittle war heroes (John Kerry v. Swift Boaters, and triple amputee Vietnam vet Max Cleland), and interfere with due process (Kathleen Harris stopped the 2000 Florida recount, the U.S. Supreme Court then declares George W. Bush president!).

Ken Blackwell, Republican Ohio attorney general in 2004, used tactics that suppressed mostly Democratic voters! And now, this year, many swing states (most have Republican governors) are initiating voter identification laws, making it difficult for many young, old, black, Latino – anyone without a special picture ID – to vote.

They claim they are addressing voter fraud. Baloney! They know exactly what they are doing. They are keeping mostly Democratic voters from the polls! Voter fraud is virtually nonexistent. The Bush administration tried to prove it. They couldn’t.

Washington has so far escaped this disgusting Republican attempt to abrogate our democracy, but stay vigilant, citizens, and let your voice be heard! Democracy can be taken away from us! For democracy’s sake, vote!
