It is with the greatest sadness we say goodbye to Anne Roe Mealey Ph.D., ARNP, daughter of deceased James and Katherine Porter Roe of Butte, MT, who passed away August 2, 2012 in Spokane, WA.
She was born March 4, 1928 in Butte, MT.
Anne was a professor at WSU Intercollegiate College of Nursing in Spokane.
She has been the pillar of strength for her six surviving children: Patrick Mealey, Menlo Park, CA; Con Mealey, Post Falls, ID; Kitty Mealey Frenzell, Detroit, MI; Brian Mealey, Spokane, WA; Megan Mealey Rounds, Post Falls, ID; Honore Mealey McGuire, Beaverton, OR; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
After her own mother died, when Anne was seven years old, she was forced to draw on her personal strengths.
She completed her Masters in her 40’s and her Doctorate in her 50’s while working full time.
She raised her six children while caring for three grandparents.
The world was blessed with a woman of great love.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 12 Noon until 7 PM, with a Vigil Service to follow at 7 PM, both at the funeral home.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Spokane Valley, WA with Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
