Sandra Sue

Sandra Sue Wiles (Winkels), born April 30, 1942, Ft. Devin, Massachusetts.

Sue passed away, on July 14, 2012, peacefully with her husband of 51 years by her side.

Sue moved to Alaska in 1954.

She graduated from West Anchorage High School in 1961.

She later worked at Beneficial Finance in Anchorage and began her family with Gerald Wiles.

They had three sons; James, Jon, and Jeffery.

She coached Little League Baseball and was a Cub Scout Den Mother.

In 1980, Sue moved with her family to the Spokane, WA, area where she became a rancher and homemaker.

She also worked a short time at Denny’s Restaurant and The Eagles Lodge.

She was active in the community raising funds for cancer research and the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery.

Sue loved to provide stuffed animals to local law enforcement, which would be given to child victims of crimes.

Her life was full and rich with her husband and large family.

She was an avid local sports fan.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Ray Winkels and Ruby Allen, and son, Jon Wiles.

She is survived by husband Gerald Wiles; son and daughter-in-law Jim and Dolly Wiles, son and daughter-in-law Jeff and Jan Wiles, daughter-in-law Mandy Wiles; brothers Gary, Fred, Rick, Randy and Scott Winkels; sisters Barbara Allen, Kathy Purcella and Betty Harris; and aunt Mabel Hopp; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren +1 on the way, and many nieces and nephews.

She cherished every one of them and loved having a large family.
