Arnold spent nights in brig for pumping

Schwarzenegger
From Wire Reports

Arnold Schwarzenegger was so eager to start his bodybuilding career that he briefly ended up in an Austrian military brig, the actor and former California governor said Friday.

He was 18 and serving a mandated year with the army in his native Austria in the mid-1960s when he snuck out of camp for the Junior Mr. Europe contest in Germany, Schwarzenegger told a meeting of TV critics.

He won the contest but also earned two or three days in the army jail, Schwarzenegger said. But military officials felt “uncomfortable” and he was released, he said.

His army superiors ended up supporting his bodybuilding efforts, he said: They created a makeshift gym for him and helped him get the food he needed to pack on 25 pounds of muscle in a year.

Siblings say Jackson’s will is invalid

Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson say the executors of Michael Jackson’s will are causing harm by damaging “fundamental family relationships” and isolating matriarch Katherine Jackson “from anyone questioning the validity of Michael’s will.”

Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson accuse the executors of a “relentless” negative media campaign and say they have been barred from visiting their 82-year-old mother or Jackson’s children.

“The effect of that notice not only is to damage fundamental family relationships, it is also to isolate Katherine Jackson from anyone questioning the validity of Michael’s will,” reads the statement by Janet Jackson’s attorney, Blair G. Brown, released on behalf of Janet, Randy and Rebbie Jackson.

Sheen matches $50,000 donation

Actor Charlie Sheen, a lifelong Cincinnati Reds fan, has pledged to donate $50,000 to the team’s Community Fund, matching the amount broadcaster Marty Brennaman raised for charity in return for having his head shaved on the field.

Sheen and father Martin Sheen were at the Reds game against Pittsburgh on Friday and saw Brennaman get his head shaved. Brennaman had promised to shave his hair if the Reds won 10 consecutive games and said he would do it publicly if fans donated at least $20,000 to the Reds fund.

That drive generated $50,000, and Charlie Sheen announced Sunday he planned to match that amount.“The City of Cincinnati has opened its arms to me so graciously and I’m compelled to give something back,” Sheen said in a statement released by the Reds. “If this contribution points one kid in the right direction, then we’ve done our job.”
