Jay was born on June 20, 1949 in Spokane, WA and passed away on August 5, 2012 after a short, but hard-fought, battle with pancreatic cancer.

His family was everything to him, and he was extremely proud of his children.

He was passionate about everything he did - activities with his family, his lifelong career in sales and his vast collections.

Jay was also a skillful builder, having renovated every home he lived in.

He faithfully maintained deep friendships throughout the United States.

He was adventurous, and loved to travel and explore new places, having visited Mexico, Hawaii and the Caribbean, plus many parks, historic sites and family throughout the U.S. as recently as last summer.

In 1987, he started a fiddle contest in Post Falls, ID.

He volunteered as the Chairman of the Northwest Regional Fiddle Contest for 20 years, and was longtime a supporter of the Old Time Fiddlers.

Jay is survived by his wife of 41 years, Wanda at the home; his son, Gary Schuh, of Gresham, OR; his daughter, Kelly Buckley and her husband Taylor Buckley, of Rochester, NY; his father, Edward Schuh; his sister, Janet Burger and her husband Bob Burger, and two nieces, Betsy Rau and Bonnie Miya, all of Spokane.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 4:30pm at Mt.

Spokane Church, 6311 E. Mt.

Spokane Park Dr. in Mead, WA.

A potluck and jam session will follow at the church.
