Vandals release TV schedule

A minimum of six University of Idaho football games will be televised or available on the Internet this fall with the first broadcast scheduled to be the Vandals’ road opener at Bowling Green on Sept. 8.

That game will be produced and distributed by Boise-area KTRV television and aired in the Spokane-area by SWX.

In addition to the Bowling Green game, KTRV will produce Idaho’s games against New Mexico State on Oct. 6, Texas State on Oct. 13 and San Jose State on Nov. 3.

The Vandals’ Sept. 15 game at Louisiana State will air on LSU PPV as well as ESPN GamePlan. The Hall of Fame game vs. Wyoming at the Kibbie Dome on Sept. 21 will air on ESPN3.

Idaho opens the 2012 season at home against Eastern Washington University on Aug. 30.

Golf

Gonzaga University’s James Fahy of Vancouver, British Columbia, finished tied for 48th at the 108th Canadian Amateur Championship at the Camelot Golf and Country Club and Club de golf Outaouais in Cumberland, Ontario. Fahy, the sophomore-to-be, fired a 6-over-par 294 over the 7,021, par-72 layout with rounds of 71-75-73-75.

• No. 20 seed Kevin Vigna of Coquitlam, B.C., outlasted No. 15 seed Lucas Gatto of Burnaby, B.C., 4 and 2 to win the Pacific Northwest Junior Boys Amateur Championship, conducted by the PNGA at Port Ludlow, Wash.
