Age 86

BITZ, William
(Age 86)

William (Bill) Bitz passed away peacefully on June 29, 2012 in Spokane, WA.

Bill was born on May 6, 1926 in Winona, North Dakota as the eldest son of Roy A. Bitz and Barbara (Schwartzenberger) Bitz.

In his profession as a barber, Bill fully enjoyed working with his customers providing them with great haircuts and other services for almost five decades.

He operated his own shops in Spokane from 1950 to 1960 and in Juanita, WA from 1960 until 1997 when he had to retire after being injured falling from a tree trimming accident.

Even so, working in the yard and with trees continued to be one of his favorite pastimes.

But, his greatest joy was being with his pet dogs or all dogs in general.
Bill is survived by his two children, Cynthea Anne (Bitz) Cunninghamm of Spokane, WA and William Joseph Bitz of Sacramento, CA; his sister, Helene (Bitz) Rosenthal of Spokane, WA; three grandchildren, Brianna Lindaman of Spokane, WA, Natalie Anne Bitz and Jordan William Bitz both of Sacramento, CA; and two Grandchildren, Trevor Hansen and Ryder Bitz, both of Sacramento, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Joseph Martin Bitz and his sister Yvonne Bergetta (Bitz) Rouse.
A private memorial celebrating his life was held in Spokane with his immediate family and close friends.

He was well remembered as a good friend and good man by all, with wishes of him being in the eternal light of peace.
