Age 76

JOHNSON, Shirley Lucille

Went with Jesus on August 6, 2012.

She was born in Spokane on July 17, 1936 to Frank and Doris McGillis.

Shirley married Jim Williams on June 30, 1951.

The marriage brought her two children, Kathy and Scott, and took her to live in Wichita Falls, Texas and Sacramento, California.

Jim and Shirley returned to Spokane to raise their family.

She worked for a local shipping company and later, for Neurology and Neurosurgery Associates.

On April 3, 1971, she married the love of her life, Dick Johnson.

Shirley then devoted her time to her husband, family, and hobbies.

Her interests included making cookies (“I made a million cookies and Grandpa ate them”), her dogs, Shadow and Dolly, working in her beautiful garden, and making Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls for all her grandchildren and countless others.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Wellman (Bob) of Chewelah and son, Scott Williams (Rebecca) of Murray, Utah; five grandchildren: Joey Kraft (Jeff), Brian Wellman, Tiffany Williams, Amber Williams (Colin Manikoth) and Collin Williams; one great-granddaughter, Antigone Manikoth; brother-in-law, Richard Flynn, nieces Julie Bender and Lisa DeWiese, and nephew, Michael Flynn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 33 years, Dick, and her sister and best friend, Joan Flynn.

A private family gathering was held on Friday, August 10.
