LASS, Leanna Louisa

Leanna Louisa Lass was born November 2, 1916 in Webster City, Iowa, the daughter of Roy and Maude Wood.

Leanna graduated from Lincoln High School in Webster City in 1934 and graduated from the University of Iowa in 1939 with a degree in social work.

She was a Phi Beta Kappa.

Leanna worked as a social worker in Iowa and California until her marriage on January 23, 1943 to Robert Lass.

In 1947 the family moved to Cheney, Washington where Leanna raised five children and Robert taught at EWU.

Leanna was very active in the United Church of Christ and knew the Bible backwards and forwards.

Robert passed away in 2002, just short of their 60th wedding anniversary.

Leanna is survived by daughter, Roberta Lass, son and daughter-in-law, Roland and Ruth Lass, daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Royce Moe, daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Ruben Ackerman, nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous foster children.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at the United Church of Christ in Cheney, Washington.

Coffee will be served at 11:00 followed by the service at 12:00.
