Missing swimmer reported northwest of Bovill, Idaho
A search was due to resume this morning for a swimmer reported missing at the Blue Lagoons, about six miles northwest of Bovill, Idaho.
Witnesses told Latah County sheriff’s deputies that Roger L. Birchmier, 39, of Troy, Idaho, was last seen swimming in the lagoon around 2:30 p.m. on Sunday and could not be located.
The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office Dive Rescue Team was called to assist in the search, a news release from the Latah County sheriff said. Deary Fire & Ambulance also assisted and Lifeflight air ambulance responded to the scene.

The lagoon search was suspended about 7 p.m. Sunday.
The area remains closed to the public.
