Sunny skies and warm afternoons will keep the Inland Northwest in its high summer season through the coming weekend. The National Weather Service is calling for a high of 94 today in Spokane. A cooling trend on Tuesday and Wednesday will see temperatures drop into the middle to upper 80s with gusty north to northeast winds likely on Wednesday as a weak weather system passes to the north. By Thursday, the summer heat pushes highs back into the 90s through Saturday. Another weather system may bring a slight chance of thunderstorms and a high near 96 on Saturday before another cool down arrives on Sunday with a high of 81. Normal temperatures for today are 84 for a night and 57 for a low. The average high is now down 2 degrees from its peak of 86 degrees in late July and early August.
