Trim the tree inventory

I love trees as much as the next person, but, really, a tree inventory? With tax revenues down, are we actually paying to have someone measure and map the trees on the right of way in the city? A worthy project perhaps, but is it appropriate to be spending this much tax money now? The economy has forced the reduction of so many valuable services that I really have to question this.
