MAURER, Charles Donald
87 Years of Life

A resident of Deer Park, Washington, formerly of Spokane, WA, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2012.

Don is the dear husband of Elaine Maurer (married 60+ years) and the father and father-in-law of Steve and Ellen Maurer of Williamsburg, Virginia.

His sister, Jeanne Froman, resides in Texas.

Don enjoyed three grandchildren: Andy Maurer of Tacoma, WA, Jeff Maurer of New York, and Sarah Raison of Washington, D.C.
Elaine and Don are preceded in death by their son, Rand Charles Maurer, in March of 2012.

Born in Colfax, WA, in 1924, and attended the Colfax Schools, Don joined the United States Coast Guard during World War II, serving on the troop ship Leonard Wood and saw combat action in the South Pacific Theatre.


After WWII, Don worked in construction, employed by Lydig Construction.

He established the Heritage Construction Company of Spokane which operated for many years.
Don and Elaine are members of the Open Door Congregational Church in Deer Park.
Funeral Services honoring Mr. Mauer will be at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 16, 2012, at the Open Door Congregational Church in Deer Park, WA.
