Thomas A.

Tom was born August 30, 1958 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Alfred and Elizabeth Rasp.

He grew up in Lakewood, Ohio and Olympia, Washington.

Tom is survived by his parents; son, Kevin Rasp; Kevin’s mother, Kimberly Rasp; dear friend, Leslie Steiner; sister, Els Deming, and nephews, Vann and Cole Deming.

After completing the B.S.

degree at WWU, he moved to Spokane Valley and began his career as a mechanical engineer.

Tom engineered projects at several local companies including: Key Tronic, Robotic Process Systems, Westek Automation, Telect Inc., and Accra-Fab.

Tom was a master craftsman, able to design products, operate machinery, fabricate, write operating manuals and travel abroad to provide assistance.

He had many interests.

He was a true romantic, loved travel and adventure, raced motorcycles as a youth, read broadly, maintained a lovely home, enjoyed music and played the guitar regularly.

Tom’s heart failed him on August 12, 2012.

His life brightened the lives of all who knew him.

A Celebration of Tom’s life will be held at 10am on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.
