Train derails in Sandpoint
Three cars of a Union Pacific train derailed today around 4 a.m. in Sandpoint.
Rick Bailey of the city police department said no injures were reported and the derailment did not created a hazardous materials situation.
The cars were hauling lumber and just “tipped off the tracks,” said Bailey, who did not know what caused the derailment.
