BLACK, Donna Fae
(Stephan) (Age 81)

Donna Fae (Stephan) Black (age 81) passed away August 15, 2012 in Spokane.

She was born February 6 1931 in Spokane and resided here most of her life, while spending winters in Carmel California.

She graduated from North Central High School and attended the University of Montana, where she met her husband, William S. Black.

After a short time in San Francisco the couple returned to Spokane where they purchased the Rogers and Rogers Insurance Agency which quickly grew into the largest independent insurance agency in the Spokane region.

Donna enjoyed world travel, having visited virtually every continent.

She loved spending special times with her husband and her kids and she had a special place in her heart for Priest Lake where Donna and Bill spent many summers.

She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma, and a longtime member of the Spokane Club.



Donna is survived by her two sons, Steve Black and wife Ann, John Black and wife Terryl all of Spokane; five grandchildren, Jason, Stacey, Laura, Morgan and Connor Black; and two sisters, Jane Henry and husband Lauren of Charlottesville, VA and Bonnie Russell of Spokane.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William S. Black; brother, Byron Stephan and brother-in-law, Cliff Russell.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 19, 2012 at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, 1306 N. Monroe St. Memorial gifts in Donna’s name may be made to Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210-2215.
