Don’t miss

“Copper” – For its first foray into scripted drama, BBC America chose to focus on this side of the pond with a compelling post-Civil War crime saga set in New York’s rough-and-tumble Five Points neighborhood. Tom Weston-Jones stars as a gruff Irish-American cop who metes out his brand of justice in an era before Miranda rights and oversight agencies. The show has a standout pedigree, coming to us from producers Barry Levinson and Tom Fontana (“Homicide: Life on the Street,” “Oz”). 7 p.m. Sunday, BBC America.

Other bets

Today: In the Season 2 finale of “Falling Skies,” a group of skitters closes in on the newly consolidated resistance force, so we expect lots of gunfire and other loud noises. Terry O’Quinn (“Lost”) guest stars. 9 p.m., TNT.

Today : Apparently, a highly paid programmer somewhere thought the world was crying out for yet another reality series pegged to a marginal celebrity. Consequently, we have “Married to Jonas,” which follows Kevin Jonas as he and his wife, Danielle, juggle the demands of showbiz with their home life. 10p.m., E!

Today : The new series “Law on the Border” delivers viewers to the small town of Nogales, Ariz., where police officers work with an elite canine unit that is determined to take a bite out of crime. 11 p.m., Animal Planet.

Monday: “The Inbetweeners” is a new comedy adapted from a British series that follows four high school pals stuck in the middle of the social food chain. Much hilarity – and existential angst – ensue. 10:30 p.m., MTV.

Tuesday: Time for Season 3 of “Face Off,” the series that challenges aspiring special-effects makeup artists to make their fantasies come to rubbery life. In the opener, they create original aliens for the “Star Wars” cantina scene. 9 p.m., Syfy.

Tuesday: We’re so over most awards shows, but we love the idea behind the “Do Something Awards.” This one honors young people – not wayward celebrities – for their achievements in community service. 9 p.m., VH1.

Wednesday: The culinary adventure continues on “Top Chef Masters,” where the contestants whip up treats for a few Hollywood celebrities. We urge you not to lick the TV screen. 10 p.m., Bravo.

Thursday: It’s high noon on the season finale of “Suits,” as the battle for control of the firm nears a critical point. Unfortunately, Mike (Patrick J. Adams) has picked this time to drop off the grid. 10:01 p.m., USA.

Friday: It’s time to rock the runway again as the 19th cycle of “America’s Next Top Model” begins. This time, the field of wannabe cover girls features 13 college students who will be judged on something other than their term papers. 8 p.m., The CW.

Saturday: Two words that no newlywed wants to hear: “Fatal Honeymoon.” In this case, it’s a fact-based movie about a woman (Amber Clayton) who dies in a very suspicious drowning 11 days after getting hitched. 8 p.m., Lifetime.
