Plane Pull 2012 - Benefiting Special Olympics Washington. An unusual competition where teams of up to 20 will be pitted against each other in the ultimate battle of strength, stamina and fun while pulling a 138,400-pound Boeing 727 jet 12 feet. Bedtime Stories Spokane 2012: Red Eye - Literary event and evening of food, wine and words. Registration and pre-reception opens at 6:15 p.m., dinner begins at 7:10 p.m. Several of the Northwest’s most celebrated authors will unveil original short works inspired by the event theme, “Red Eye.” This year’s writers include Kim Barnes, Jim Lynch, Shann Ray and Nance Van Winckel, with emcee Jess Walter.
