Home destroyed in fire

A Spokane County couple lost their home to a fire Tuesday morning.

“There’s just nothing,” Robin Perry said soon after rushing home from work and placing her unharmed dog, Suka, in an outbuilding while fire crews continued to work.

Neither Perry nor her husband, Lynn Perry, was home when the blaze started.

Firefighters were called to the manufactured home on West Dogwood Lane about 9:40 a.m., said Spokane County Fire District No. 3 Chief Bruce Holloway.

The home, between Spokane and Cheney, was on 10 acres of wooded property with a well-tended garden.

Holloway said the fire was reported by a neighbor. The home was fully engulfed when crews arrived.

Perry said that she and her husband lived in the home southwest of Spokane for 12 years.
