EDWARDS, Gerald R.
“Jerry” (Age 66)

Went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2012 after a long battle with cancer and other health issues.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Marla, daughters Angela Edwards (Ruben), Tina Condon (Ted), Lisa Landsiedel (Jake), and Tammy Ferraris.

His seven grandchildren, Kristina, Heather, Ryan, Ben, Molly, Mia and Daphne were the light of his life.

He also has two sisters, Nancy Mahoney (deceased) and Linda Gentile (Phil) and his mother Ruth Edwards of Rosemead, CA.

He is also survived by a brother-in-law, Skip Mahoney, along with many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was born in Atascadero, California on January 21, 1946 and was raised in Southern California.

He joined the US Marine Corps in 1965 and served two tours in Vietnam receiving three Purple Hearts.

After his military service, he worked as a plasterer in the construction industry.

He and his family moved to Spokane in 1979.

Jerry loved to fish, host many BBQs, created beautiful wood working projects and was always accompanied by his devoted little dog, Buddy.

If anything could be said about Jerry’s legacy, it is that he was a devoted family man and never knew a stranger.

His kindness and optimistic outlook in life cemented many friendships.

His continuing medical issues never interfered with his amazing gift of connecting and reaching out to people.

He was well known for his generosity and his greetings always included a big hug.

A viewing will be held Thursday, August 23rd and Friday, August 24th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home.

A funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 25th at 10:30 am at Heritage Funeral Home followed by reception.

Burial services will be held at Spokane Memorial Gardens at 1:00 pm., followed by a celebration of Jerry’s life with a backyard BBQ at the home of his daughter Tina Condon at 2:30pm.

All are invited to attend any or all of the events.
