HOISINGTON, Owen D.
(Age 91)

Owen D. Hoisington passed away peacefully on August 19, 2012 in Spokane Valley, WA.

He was 91.



Owen was born on the family homestead site in St. Maries, ID, on April 3, 1921, to E. Raymond and Hazel Allbery Hoisington.



He grew up in the Spokane area and attended Rogers High School.

In 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands in the Northern Pacific for the duration of World War II.



In 1945, he married Caroline Caria.

They made their home in Spokane where he was employed by Pacific Northwest Bell for 35 years, retiring in 1984.



Owen is survived by his wife of 66 years and by his four sons, Dale of Kent, WA; David (Connie) of Colbert, WA; Dean (Inez) of Kirkland, WA; Duane (Teresa) of Spokane, WA and foster son, Paul Ward of Spokane.

Other survivors include numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as his brother, Bill, of Hoodsport, WA.

Owen was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Harry and Virgil and sister Rae O’Brien.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 12 Noon at the Fairmount Memorial Park Sunset Mausoleum Chapel, with reception to follow.
