Margie went peacefully home to be with Jesus on August 19, 2012.

She was born January 25, 1924 in Fairfield, WA where she lived her entire life.

She was the 5th of seven children born to Lillie (Reifenberger) Hahner and Charles Hahner.

She graduated from Washington State College in 1946 and later that year married Carl Groth, her high school sweetheart.

They spent 57 years together, farming and being involved in their church and community.

Margaret was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Southeast Spokane Historical Society.

She was a woman of deep faith, a prayer warrior and an inspiration to others right up until the end of her life.

Margie often expressed her deep gratitude for her family, her kind neighbors, good friends and her dear church community.

She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren unconditionally.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers; Herman and James and Sisters; Ruth and Eleanor.

Margaret is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law; Nancy and Dick Piersol, Susan and Bergen Bothman; son and daughter-in-law Dave and Linda Groth.

She has nine grandchildren; Scott (Christine) Piersol, Janel (Kevin) Branon, Melissa Piersol, Amy (David) DeGon, Becky (Martin) Kuzel, Russ Bothman, Rick Bothman, Bonnie (Steve) Williams and Ben Groth.

There are 10 great-grandchildren; Kyle, Matt, Isaac, Kasey, Jenna, Drew, Emily, Sarah, Teagan and Kamila.

She is survived by one sister, Claudia Dennie and one brother Charles Hahner.

Memorials may be given to the Zion Lutheran Preschool or Zion Kids for Camp, Box 324, Fairfield, WA, 99012.

A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, at Fairview, Cemetery in Rockford, WA followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Fairfield, WA.
