Idaho high school football begins play tonight
Ten North Idaho prep football teams get a head start on area teams with season-opening games this weekend including two games involving area 5A teams.
Two-time defending 5A state champion Coeur d’Alene opens tonight at 4A Skyview in Nampa while Lake City treks to Eagle, the 2011 5A state runner-up. Both games begin at 6 PDT.
In other games tonight, Kootenai is at Wallace, St. Maries travels to Kellogg and Moscow goes to Grangeville.
Saturday, Bonners Ferry travels to Libby, Mont., and there’s a doubleheader in the Kibbie Dome featuring Mullan against Timberline at 3 p.m., followed …

Soccer
Emilee Cordon and the North Idaho College women’s soccer team opened the season with a 4-0 win over Western Wyoming.
Cordon scored three goals and Kellsi Parson one. Aubree Mercier had three assists.
