Police investigating infant’s suspicious death

Spokane police are investigating the suspicious death of a four-month-old infant. Police were called to a residence on the 1500 block of East 11th Avenue after medics transported an infant to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead. Police did not say what injuries the infant had suffered. A search warrant was executed at a home. The mother was out of town at the time of the infant’s death, but police declined to say who was caring for the baby. No arrests have been made. Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy scheduled for early next week.
