Spokane man dies during Montana bicycle race

HELENA — A 62-year-old Spokane man died while participating in a mountain bike race northeast of Helena. Lewis and Clark County Coroner Mickey Nelson tells the Independent Record that Daniel D. Abbott collapsed Saturday afternoon while participating in the York 38 Special bike ride. He was pronounced dead at the hospital in Helena. Nelson says it appears a medical condition led to Abbott’s death.
