Romney taxes a distraction

Regarding letters of Aug. 11 and 25, I could care less about Mitt Romney’s tax returns. He has disclosed all financial information required and paid every dime owed to the government, according to the Internal Revenue Service. Why the fuss?

This is just cannon fodder for Democrats, designed to divide Americans through envy, jealousy and class warfare. This should be beneath us. It distracts from real issues such as the economy, our debt, out-of-control spending and unemployment, among others. Which of these do you think President Barack Obama would like to talk about more than Mitt’s taxes?

As far as ethics, how could you not be concerned about Obama’s March 26 comments to then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev when he thought his microphone was off, or his failure to provide Congress with documents regarding his knowledge of Attorney General Eric Holder’s Fast and Furious operation, or leaking classified information to the press? He cannot be trusted and our allies know this.

Obama’s policies and administration have failed at nearly every level, and they should not be rewarded with another term. Our country cannot survive four more years of this incompetence and divisive ideology. It’s destroying us and must be stopped.
