Photo: House fire called suspicious

Blaze knocked down quickly: Spokane firefighters walk past a yard filled with the contents from a home that caught fire Tuesday night in Spokane’s West Central neighborhood. Fire officials were calling the fire suspicious. Crews responded to a report of smoke coming from the roof of the home on the 1800 block of West Boone Avenue around 9 p.m. The fire was quickly knocked down. Investigators said no one was inside when firefighters arrived. Witnesses said they saw someone bringing boxes containing household items into the front yard starting about 7 p.m. A no-trespassing notice was on the window. Investigators said items found on the second floor indicated someone may have been staying there recently. (Dan Pelle)
