Post Falls’ Christensen makes title match

Bob Christensen of Post Falls rallied to win both his matches on Thursday and advance to the championship of the Pacific Northwest Men’s Master-40 Amateur Golf Championship at Wildhorse Resort and Casino in Pendleton, Ore.

Christensen was 4 down through 12 holes in his quarterfinal against top seed Curtis Rystadt of Portland before rallying to send the match into extra holes and win on the 20th hole.

Christensen, the No. 9 seed, then faced 12th seed Byron Patton of Tigard, Ore., and trailed by 1through 11 holes before winning 2-up.

He faces Darren Kuhn of Pocatello for the title.

College volleyball

Cal Poly (1-3) defeated Idaho (2-2) in five sets, wining the final set 15-9, in a nonconference match at San Luis Obispo, Calif.
