Hubbard, Indians top Bulldogs

Matt Hubbard scored 26 points and grabbed 21 rebounds and Colville overcame a slow start and beat Sandpoint 46-39 in a nonleague basketball game Saturday in Sandpoint.

Tevyn Holling added 12 points for the Indians (2-0), which trailed by seven points after the opening quarter.

Thomas Edwards tallied a team-high eight points for the Bulldogs (0-2).

Mead 56, Blanchet 51: Thomas Kautzman tallied 15 points and 12 rebounds as the Panthers (2-0) held on to beat Blanchet at The Fitz tournament at Lewis and Clark. Mead led by 12 at the half and held off Blanchet’s second-half rally.

West Valley 70, Peninsula 47: Jake Love scored 18 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and the Eagles (2-1) used a hot start to get past the Seahawks at The Fitz tournament. Tyler Stavnes added 14 points and Devante Dickerson had 12 points and eight boards for West Valley, which led by 17 after the first quarter.

East Valley 62, North Central 44: James Brown made six 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 31 points to lead the Knights (1-1) past the Indians (0-2) at North Central. Jalen Woodard scored 14 points for North Central.

Central Valley 65, Chiawana 41: Austin Rehkow hit five 3-pointers and finished with 18 points as the visiting Bears (1-0) jumped ahead early and eased past the Riverhawks. Beau Byus added 11 points and eight rebounds for Central Valley, which won the rebounding battle 35-20.

Kamiakin 43, Post Falls 36: The Braves pulled away in the second half and beat the visiting Trojans (1-1). Nick Hall and Corey Koski combined for 21 points for Post Falls.

Priest River 44, Lakeside (WA) 41: R.C. Akre hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give the Spartans (2-0) a win over the visiting Eagles (0-1). Akre hit three 3s for and finished with 12 points. Coleton Collins and Ryan Quigley scored eight points apiece for Lakeside.

Lakeland 51, Bonners Ferry 23: The Hawks (1-1) outscored the Badgers (1-2) 24-8 in the first quarter and cruised to the win at Bonners Ferry. Derek Bayley scored all of his game-high eight points in the first half for Lakeland.

Granger 54, Freeman 52: A pair of free throws with 1.5 seconds left gave the Spartans a win over the Scotties (0-2) at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic in Yakima. Freeman got a shot off at the buzzer but it was off the mark. Kellen Miller had 21 points, eight assists and seven rebounds to lead the Scotties.

La Salle 47, Colfax 38: The Lightning pulled away in the fourth quarter to beat the Bulldogs (1-1) at the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic. Kasey Johnson scored a game-high 18 points for Colfax.

Liberty 71, Wilbur-Creston 44: Zack Kunkel scored 10 of his game-high 20 points in the first quarter as the Lancers (2-0) got out to a quick start and raced past the visiting Wildcats (1-1). Austin Seivers added nine points, five steals and four rebounds for Liberty.

Okanogan 70, Medical Lake 46: Justin Rivas scored 16 of his game-high 27 points in the second half and the Bulldogs routed the host Cardinals (1-1). Jim Townsend added 17 points for Okanogan. Adam Paulson tallied a team-high 13 points for Medical Lake.

St. George’s 61, Chewelah 51: Dexter Sienko scored a game-high 21 points to lead the Dragons (2-0) past the host Cougars (0-1). Derek Smith and Brandon Smith had 15 points apiece for Chewelah.

Kettle Falls 47, Inchelium 23: Connor McKern scored 13 points and Nathan Disque added 10 as the Bulldogs (2-0) beat the host Hornets (0-1).

Pomeroy 52, Asotin 38: Cade Snyder and Riley Bott scored 13 points apiece to lead the Pirates (1-0) past the host Panthers.

Kellogg 56, Wallace 41: Garret Wendt had 12 points, six steals and four assists as the Wildcats (3-0) beat the Miners (1-1) at the Silver Valley Tournament in Wallace. Brock Arthur had 16 points for Wallace.

Northport 66, St. Michael’s 53: Jeremiah Johnson had 21 points, 18 rebounds, six steals and five assists to lead the Mustangs (1-1) past the visiting Warriors (0-2). Gabe Durazo tallied a game-high 33 points for St. Michael’s.

Wellpinit 66, Rosalia 47: A.J. Kieffer had 25 points, 17 rebounds and six blocks as the Redskins (2-0) beat the visiting Spartans (0-2). Craig Nelson led Rosalia with 18 points.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 53, Omak 35: Mitch Hunt scored 19 points and Thunder Wellhausen added 16 as the Warriors (1-1) topped the Pioneers at Coulee City.

Reardan 68, Columbia 27: Skylar Peone scored 24 points as the Indians (1-1) grabbed control from the outset and routed the Lions (0-1) in Hunters. Dustin Wyborney and Joe Schwartz scored nine points apiece for Columbia.

Oroville 58, Curlew 48: Connor Hughes made 4 of 6 3-pointers and finished with 27 points as the Hornets edged the host Cougars (1-1). Dalton Drennan sank 6 of 12 3s and finished with 18 points for Curlew.

Valley Christian 59, Selkirk 46: Nick Cox scored 26 points to lead the Panthers (2-0) past the host Rangers (0-1).

Odessa-Harrington 46, Moses Lake Christian 31: Markus Smith and Justin Hunt scored 12 points apiece and Jacob Dewulf pulled down 15 rebounds as the Titans (2-0) beat the host Lions.
