Obituary: Kirk, Rev. Jack Wendell

KIRK, Rev.

Jack Wendell 90 Years of Life A longtime resident of Elk, Washington, and founder of the Foothills Mission in Elk and the New Life Mission in Spirit Lake, Idaho, passed away on Wednesday, November 28, 2012.

Rev.

Kirk is the dear husband of Ruth Kirk and the loving father of Jim Kirk of Elk, Steve Kirk of Grass Valley, California, and is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Kirk Blair.

He enjoyed 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Born in Mt.

Pleasant, Iowa in 1922, Rev.

Kirk served with the United States Army Air Corps during World War II, seeing combat action in the South Pacific Theatre at Saipan.

He attended and graduated from Church of God Bible School and attended the Assemblies of God Bible College.

Reverend Kirk’s funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, December 6, 2012, in Elk at the Country Church of the Open Bible with his son, Jim Kirk, officiating.

Military honors and flag presentation will be by the Military Honor Guard of Spokane, Washington, followed with interment in Elk Cemetery #1.

Following the interment, a reception for all family and friends will be held at the church.
