Rescue effort as 2 fall into empty Pa. water tank
EAGLEVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Emergency crews are trying to rescue two people who reportedly fell 100 feet into an empty water tank in suburban Philadelphia.
Emergency dispatchers in Montgomery County northwest of the city said they received a call shortly after 11 a.m. Wednesday that two people working on the tank fell into it. Rescuers said there’s no water in the tank.
A firefighter on a ladder truck is trying to get to the victims. There’s no word on their condition.
Officials said the tank is on the property of the Audubon Water Co.
The accident happened in Lower Providence Township about five miles northwest of Norristown.
