Kudos to thinking Republicans

There are at least four thinking Republicans in our Congress. My hat is off to Sens. Saxby Chambliss of Georgia, Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, John McCain of Arizona and Rep. Peter King of New York.

They are ripping up that horrid pledge to Grover Norquist to never raise taxes. Our representative, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, is a sheep who follows Norquist to his feeding trough. Norquist has held the Republican Party hostage for several years, and pays himself $200,000 per year salary from his nonprofit organization. The IRS needs to check this out.

Wake up, farmers and ranchers in Eastern Washington! The Democrats have helped you struggle with low wheat prices and our own Democratic governor has been proactive in getting markets open. Of course, taxes pay for our hospitals, our 911 systems, police and fire protection. And do not forget those freeways and highways that are fully tax-supported.

The Republicans in our Congress are willing to be Norquist lemmings and dive over that fiscal cliff.
