Panhandle soccer players score honors

Seven North Idaho boys and girls soccer players and two coaches have been honored by the Idaho High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Tiegen Horton (goalie) and Meaghan Bare (forward) of Lake City along with Lexi Smith (defender) and Kelcie Hedge (midfielder) of Post Falls were named to the Idaho girls All-State team. Hedge was named player of the year.

Lake City coach Matt Ruchti, whose team won the state title in a shootout against Post Falls, was named coach of the year.

Brady Ulen (defender) and Timmy Mueller (forward) of Post Falls were named to the Idaho boys All-State team.

They led the Trojans to the state title. Mueller also was named player of the year. Post Falls coach Gabe Lawson was named coach of the year.
