Timberlake boys defeat East Valley

The Timberlake Tigers took control in the fourth quarter and earned a 60-53 nonleague basketball win over East Valley on Friday night at Timberlake.

Keegan Scott scored 16 of his game-high 18 points after halftime. Scott and Johnny Hayden combined for 13 of the Tigers’ 19 fourth-quarter points.

Hayden finished with 14 points for Timberlake (3-0).

The Knights (2-2) were led by James Brown’s 15 points and J.T. Phelan’s 14 points.

Northeast 2B

Northwest Christian 62, Liberty 46: Nick Kiourkas scored 20 points and Matt Kershinar added 14 as the Crusaders (2-0, 1-0) beat the visiting Lancers (3-1, 0-1). Northwest Christian outscored Liberty 23-14 in the first quarter and led by 13 at halftime.

Ryan Thayer tallied a team-high 14 points for the Lancers.

Davenport 56, Springdale 29: Shane Hopkins made 7 of 13 shots and finished with 18 points to lead the visiting Gorillas (4-0, 1-0) past the cold-shooting Chargers (0-4, 0-1). Springdale made just 7 of 58 field-goal attempts.

Northeast 1B North

Selkirk 69, Northport 51: Avery Miller scored 26 points to lead the Rangers (2-1, 1-0) past the host Mustangs (2-2, 0-1). Three others scored in double digits for Selkirk – Dominic Cain (16), Cole Dawson (13) and Shawn Mailly (12). Jeremiah Johnson and Dylan Masters scored 17 points each for Northport.

Curlew 43, Columbia 27: Doug Hermann scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds to lead the Cougars (2-3, 1-0) past the visiting Lions (0-2, 0-1). Dalton Drennan added 12 points for Curlew, which outscored Columbia 16-5 in the second. Dustin Wyborney scored 15 points for the Lions.

Nonleague

Cheney 72, Freeman 46: Eric Igbinoba scored 11 of his game-high 30 points in the fourth quarter and the Blackhawks (2-2) defeated the visiting Scotties (0-4). Keenan Williams chipped in 15 points and 14 boards for Cheney, which outscored Freeman 17-1 in the first quarter.

Pullman 73, Lewiston 43: Corey Langerveld scored a game-high 30 points to lead the Greyhounds (2-1) past the visiting Bengals (0-4). Pullman outscored Lewiston 26-12 in the first quarter and led by 25 points at the half.

Deer Park 66, Medical Lake 50: Caleb Guske scored 15 of his game-high 18 points in the second half and the Stags (1-3) defeated the visiting Cardinals (2-2). Nic Clough scored 15 points and Reese Ferguson and Travis Pierce added 10 for Deer Park. Austin Garza and Adam Paulson combined for 27 points for Medical Lake.

Riverside 70, Priest River 69 (OT): Tyler Axtell scored 10 of his game-high 32 point in overtime and the Rams (2-2) edged the host Spartans (2-2). Jimmy Koch led four Priest River players in double figures with 14 points.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 64, Columbia (Burbank) 32: Dylan Hartz made three 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 15 points as the Broncos (1-0) beat visiting Columbia.

Republic 57, St. Michael’s 46: Dan Slagle had 14 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Tigers (2-1) past the visiting Warriors (0-4). Gabe Durazo scored 20 for St. Michael’s.

Odessa-Harrington 51, Soap Lake 38: The Titans (3-0) erased a six-point deficit with a 21-2 fourth-quarter run and beat the host Eagles. Cade Weber scored 19 points and Madison Charlton and Justin Hunt added 10 apiece for Odessa-Harrington.
