Obituary: Henkle, Darlene And Donald

HENKLE, Darlene and Donald Both passed away on December 4, 2012.

Darlene was born in September, 1932, in Butte, MT.

When she was young, she worked as a swimsuit seamstress, a dental hygienist, and a dance instructor.

At age 19, she married Don.

They were married for 61 years.

Darlene loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

They were the light of her life.

She also enjoyed collecting antiques.

Her favorite place to be was at Priest Lake, roasting rosy marshmallows around the campfire with her family.

Don was born in March, 1932, in Vancouver, WA.

When he was young, Don worked in a grocery warehouse.

He was proud of his time at Washington State College.

During the time Don was attending WSC, Darlene was working to support her new husband.

Don went on to a career in the Air Force, where he retired at the rank of Major.

Upon retirement, he took up the French horn, which he enjoyed for many years.

They are survived by their children, Pat Henkle (Jackie), Dave Henkle (Kathy), Brenda Kirchmeier (Mort Sullivan), and Cheryl Mitchell (Greg), as well as seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Their lives will be celebrated in a private family service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Jude’s Children Fund.
