Obituary: Mace, Lloyd Eldon
Age 90
He was born October 30, 1922 in St. John, KS, the son of Frank O. and Elisabeth (Hendrickson) Mace.
He was an experienced engineer designing many applications for the automotive and construction industries.
Major Mace was an accomplished fighter pilot serving over 20 years in the U.S. Army Air Force and U.S. Air Force.
He flew numerous aerial combat missions with the Flying Tigers in China during WW II.
On March 10, 1945 he married his high school sweetheart Clara Marie (Light) at Liberal, Kansas, currently residing in Spokane, WA.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven M. Mace, Paso Robles, CA, Robert L. Mace and wife Janette, Valrico, FL; a daughter, Suzanne Tresko, Spokane, WA; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Louise Vice.
Graveside service was held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John, KS.
