Obituary: Snow, Robert Harold Iii
Age 70
Bob graduated from Reardan High School May 23, 1961, then went on to WSU to further his education as a Coug and proud Sigma Chi.
Bob was a member of the Washington Air National Guard from ‘65 through ‘71, attaining the rank of Sergeant E-4.
Bob helped his father start construction of the family business, Snow’s Auto Supply on North Division in ‘64, which opened it’s doors in ‘65.
Bob worked as owner/manager of the family business until his retirement.
In 1970, Bob married Karen Meyer and they were later blessed with the birth of their daughter, Sondra “Sandi” in 1977.
Bob and Karen later divorced.
Although he cherished all of his family members, Sandi was truly the most important thing in this world to him.
Words cannot express what a wonderful, loving father, brother and son that he was.
From ‘80-‘84 Bob and Sandi rebuilt an old 1949 Piper “tail dragger” in his garage.
Bob was a skilled pilot and he and Sandi particularly enjoyed flying to places like Grand Coulee Dam, the family farm and Sullivan Lake on the weekends.
As a younger man, Bob excelled in football, was an avid water skier, a lifeguard, and worked as a commercial fisherman in Alaska.
In later years, he enjoyed photography, spending time at the lake and teaching children to swim.
Bob was a lifelong member and supporter of Sigma Chi and a Freemason of the Scottish Rite.
He was very spiritual and deeply honest.
Bob is survived by his mother Irene Snow; daughter Sondra Snow; brother Terry (Colleen) Snow; sister Susan (Steve) Simpson; nieces Kelly Snow, Shannon Heim and Jennifer Kanzler; and nephews Chris Kanzler, Cary Snow and Jeff Kanzler.
Bob was preceded in death by his father Robert H. Snow Jr. Services to be held Monday, December 17, 2012 at 10:30am at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S. Cedar St. Spokane, WA with reception in the church fellowship hall.
Graveside service to follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace at 1pm.
John Sowers and Don Meekhof to preside over services.
