THOMPSON, Lillian “Cupie” Cupie was born Easter Morning, March 31, 1918 to Gustav and Evaline Becker in Hillyard, WA., and passed away peacefully on November 28, 2012 in Spokane. She was the nineth of ten children; all preceding her in death. Cupie married “the boy across the street”, Bud Thompson, on May 24, 1946, after he returned from the U.S. Marine Corps, Pacific Theater of WWII. Her housekeeping skills and successes were a great source of accomplishment. As a testament, parties and holidays were celebrated by family and friends with her meals, pies and especially those Christmas fattigmans. After raising two children, in retirement, Bud and Cupie were able to travel the U.S., seeing the sites and visiting scattered family members, especially the grandkids. Cupie called Bingo and Slot Machine playing her “hobbies”. She tried never to miss a game, or the chance to play slots; especially after moving to Royal Plaza Retirement Center. She lived each and every day as if it were the best. Her beautiful smile, laughter, singing, teasing ways and generous, loving heart will be greatly missed by all. Cupie was preceded in death by her “one and only”, Howard “Bud” Thompson. Survived by her son Duane (Ruth) Thompson and her daughter Carol (John) Thompson-Adkins. Grandchildren Julie Blickfeldt and Mark Thompson and great-granddaughter Amanda. Along with numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a private gathering on March 31, 2013 by family and friends for the scattering of Cupie and Bud’s ashes in the hills where they played as children. All donations and memorials to the Shriner’s Hospital in Spokane, WA. “Toodle-Loo” Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Auntie and Dear Friend…
