Picha leads Pirates past Loggers
Lauren Picha made 6 of 9 from 3-point range and finished with 18 points as Whitworth stayed undefeated in the Northwest Conference with a 72-59 win over Puget Sound in Spokane.
Jamie Lyons added 12 points and Kayla Johnson chipped in 10 for the Pirates, who forced 21 turnovers.
Kelsey McKinnis and Sarah Stewart combined for 21 points for Puget Sound.
Whitworth improved to 7-1 overall and 2-0 in conference games. Puget Sound fell to 6-3 and 0-2.
Men’s basketball
Brady Bagby scored 26 points and Kwinn Hanson made all nine of his shots and finished with 19 points …
