A lifelong resident of Washington State, her early childhood years were spent in logging camps until the age of five when her family settled in the Spokane Valley where she continued to live until her passing on December 3, 2012 at the age of 85.
Bonnie attended Vera Grade School and graduated from Central Valley High School in 1945.
She worked for Consolidated Freightways & Cater Transfer.
She married Gerald H. Calvert on April 19, 1948 at Redeemer Lutheran Church and was a member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.
She shared her strong Christian faith with her family and friends throughout her life.
Bonnie was devoted to home and family and especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She loved gardening, animals and travel.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; her brother, Robert (Virginia) Smith; sons-in-law, Stacey Watts and Richard Nissing; and her parents.
Survivors include: children - Cynthia Rennie, Jody Nissing, Tammy Manning, Randy (Cindy) Calvert, Trudy Watts, Barry Calvert; grandchildren - Andrea, Emilie, Alison Rennie; Jeremy, Jeffrey (Emily), Gregory Nissing; Meagan (Seth) Caldwell, Braeden (Kaylyn) Manning; Alisabethe (Josh) Castor, Robbie Calvert; Tuija, Tucker, Bronte Watts; great-grandchildren - Justyn Castor, Josiah and Peter Caldwell, Peyton Nissing, Kallan Ensor, and Liam Manning; nephews - Brad (Diane), Mike and Kim Smith.
Visitation will take place from 10am to 1pm on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA, followed by a Memorial Service starting at 1pm at the same location.
