Obituary: Keller, Lt. Col. David W.

Age 76

KELLER, Lt. Col. David W. Lt. Col. David W. Keller, USAF Retired, of Spokane, Washington, passed away peacefully on December 8th at the age of 76.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Charles F. Keller, Sr., and Catherine R. Keller, and by his children’s mother, Phyllis Jane Butterfield Keller.

David will be forever missed and is survived by his son Charles R. Keller of Seattle (wife Stephanie) and grandson Evan, daughter Mary C. Bean (husband Nigel) of Renton and grandsons Jason and Garrett, and daughter Anne M. Keller of Revelstoke, B.C., and grand-dog Toko.

David is also survived by his brother, Dr. Charles F. Keller, Jr., of Los Alamos, New Mexico.

David was born in Pennsylvania on September 9, 1936, graduated from Dickinson College with an undergraduate degree, and assumed a commission in the United States Air Force where he became stationed in Labrador, Canada.

Several stations, years, and a family later, he retired from Fairchild AFB in Spokane after 25 years of service.

David was an avid historian and political scientist, and was very active in his local chapter of the GOP, where he served as treasurer.

A rosary vigil will be held at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home at 7pm Thursday, December 13.

The Funeral Mass will be held at Assumption Parish at 1pm Friday, December 14.

Interment of his remains will take place on Monday, December 17 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, at 1:15 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in David’s name to Disabled American Veterans, Camp Patriot, or the Humane Society.
