VOGT, Arthur R. Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Arthur Raymond Vogt, slipped quickly from this life due to a massive stroke on December 1, 2012. We are comforted that he did not suffer long. Art was born in Evanston, IL on May 8, 1931 to Arthur Anton and Ada (McKinnon) Vogt. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Phyllis Ann (Vogt) Daufenbach. VOGT, Arthur R. Our beloved husband, father and grandfather, Arthur Raymond Vogt, slipped quickly from this life due to a massive stroke on December 1, 2012. We are comforted that he did not suffer long. Art was born in Evanston, IL on May 8, 1931 to Arthur Anton and Ada (McKinnon) Vogt. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Phyllis Ann (Vogt) Daufenbach. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Alma Jane (Downey) Vogt and two children, son, Michael Arthur Vogt; daughter, Pamela Jean (Vogt) McNamee; son-in-law, Michael David McNamee; three grand- children, Ryan Michael, Kelly Ann, Kevin Arthur McNamee, and the last of many animal companions he enjoyed, Charlie Cat. Art had a lifelong interest in electronics. It was his hobby (Ham Radio) as well as his career. He worked at Illinois Institute of Technology Research in Chicago for 42 years. He was Manager of Engineering Services there as well as Manager of Riverbank Acoustical Labs in Geneva, IL. During the war years Art worked on projects of the highest government security, including atom bomb testing. A memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 316 E. 24th Ave., Spokane, WA, 99203 on Monday, December 17 at 1pm. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s Church; SpokAnimal, 710 N. Napa St., Spokane, WA 99202; or a charity of your choice.
