The University of Idaho has hired Myriam Sopel as its head women’s tennis coach, the school announced Wednesday.

Sopel graduated from Indiana in 2011 after a standout career. She compiled a 59-44 career singles record and an 89-59 doubles record. Sopel was part of two Hoosiers teams that advanced to the NCAA tournament.

Sopel, a three-time Academic All-American and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, double-majored in journalism and Spanish.

She takes over for Dan Pollock, who joined the tennis coaching staff at BYU.
