SARP good for area

The Spokane Valley City Council has been talking about economic development. Even adopting a few “good” parts of the scrapped Sprague Avenue Redevelopment Plan would be an economic “positive change” for the great community we call Spokane Valley.

One of the good parts of SARP was the concept of a city center. Could there be a better place to start than the Balfour Park-Pring property location? The library has indicated it would like to locate, subject to voter approval of a bond issue, a new central library building on 4 acres of the 8-acre site. The city recently purchased the land. With the ambiance of the area a new city hall and a new library would be enhancements for nearby economic development by the private sector.

Spokane Valley is such a wonderful city. It is nice to see the council is working toward a “positive change” – a change that would do so much to improve this great community.
