Police find 120 pounds of pot in speeding car
The Idaho State Police seized about 120 pounds of marijuana Thursday from a vehicle traveling east on Interstate 90 in Shoshone County.
The driver, Serafin Moreno, 40, was arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana, a felony. Moreno said he lives in Texas.
Scores of shrink-wrapped bags full of marijuana buds were found in duffle bags in the back of the Mazda SUV, officials said. The drugs have an estimated street value of more than $386,000, the ISP said.
Cpl. Kevin Kessler stopped the vehicle for speeding about 1:30 p.m. near milepost 46. He became suspicious that the driver was attempting to smuggle drugs and obtained Moreno’s consent to search the vehicle.
