Why ship coal to China?
Call me naive, silly or uninformed, but I do not understand why we plan to send 54 million tons of American coal to China and other Asian markets. Is this how we become energy independent?
Not to mention the $665 million to build the shipping port in Bellingham. How about we spend that amount to make a scrubber plant to make our coal cleaner for our use?
Like I said, I do not understand.
