Council majority hurt city

It appears that the conservative members of the Spokane City Council are counting on the short memories of their constituents.

They campaigned on “creating jobs in Spokane,” and one of their first accomplishments was to cut 98 jobs out of the budget, many of which are in essential services. They also seem to be out of sync with their federal counterparts, who have finally admitted that raising revenue is necessary for fiscal responsibility. Even sadder is their refusal to devote revenue-neutral funds to the home monitoring of non-violent offenders, which would save the city money and improve outcomes.

They are a prime example of the definition of ignorance; by ignoring the facts and the needs of the citizens of Spokane.
