Heavy snow expected tonight

By The Spokesman-Review

A winter storm warning has been issued for the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene area by the National Weather Service beginning at 8 p.m. tonight. Experts are predicting up to three inches of snow in the lower elevations and up to seven inches of snow above 2,000 feet in elevation overnight tonight.

High winds are forecast for Monday, which could create blowing and drifting snow. Roads are expected to deteriorate and the Monday morning commute could be messy.

The snow could change to rain Monday in some areas as the temperatures rise above freezing, the Weather Service said.
